2000 Sartori di Verona Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOC about $30
I like this one a lot!
If I didn’t have the label to look at, I’d say this was a nice Napa wine. Nice dark red color with dark fruit or perhaps a bit of cherry aroma. There is just a touch of chocolate in the taste, and the wine is very well balance from beginning to end.
I can’t believe it, I actually have a bottle of this wine in my cellar right now. I’ve been holding on to it for a year now and I wasn’t sure how much longer it would sit. Any guidance would be appreciated (aka I’m willing to share!)
Dave and Dan:
I recently explored this wine at a small family-owned Italian restaurant in Dallas, Texas. I raved about it so much that a friend found a bottle and recently surprised me with it as a gift.
This wine will be a long-standing favorite of mine. You should definitely allow this wine some time to breathe. I recommend opening it well before your speical meal.
